Spell What You Hear
A Pinyin keyboard listening test where students spell the Mandarin blend they hear and focus on selected initials or finals.
Pinyin spelling from audio
Spell What You Hear uses a Pinyin keyboard. The student presses start, hears a sound, and spells what they heard.
The settings page lets students choose the initials and finals they are struggling with. The test then focuses only on associated blends. When the student gets an answer wrong, the app shows the correct sound. Tapping the correct sound graphic plays it, allowing the learner to hear the difference.
